The smaller sister of nearby Lake Arrowhead, Lake Gregory is the perfect spot for a lazy day on the water. Too small for speedboats, it’s the more relaxing mountain alternative – ideal for floating along on inner tubes or paddling around in kayaks or row boats. Finish the day with a barbecue on the sandy lakeside “beach” or grab a spot on the patio at the lakeside restaurant. Although it frequently changes ownership, it’s served as the perfect place for afternoon margaritas, champagne breakfasts, or pizza and beers. For something more reliable, try the bagels, sandwiches or homemade pastries at the surprisingly hip Lake Gregory Coffee Company a mile up Lake Drive.
